"Yoga is extremely valuable when it comes to training for baseball. It not only helps with stability, flexibility, and balance, but also improves moving through motions powerfully while under control. As a pitcher, it is extremely important for me to be able to stay balanced in my leg lift as well as being able to stabilize on my landing leg. Yoga also helped me develop a stronger core and has increased my flexibility. Flexibility is a necessity for a pitcher because having an improved range of mobility means I can get deeper into my stride and create more force from the ground up, which increases velocity."

My husband bid on the membership at an auction at a We Heart Veterans event. I was sooo super nervous to start because I had never done yoga in my life; I knew NOTHING! That first practice was tough and I never knew that I could sweat so much and there were a couple of times that I thought I would surely die! But I didn’t!! The more I practiced, the more I started figuring out the poses and that’s when I recognized the mental and emotional benefits of yoga. I felt (and continue to feel) calm, peaceful, and generally happy during and after practices. My husband has noticed the change in my demeanor, as well. (Less anxious, less stressed, etc.) My decision was easy. Yoga is officially a part of my life! There have been changes in my body, too. I can do things today that weren’t possible for me just a couple of months ago. I’m getting some nice muscle tone! I feel confident and strong. Yoga has been a life-changing experience for me…mind, body, and soul. I’m so thankful to my husband for giving me an opportunity to try something new that I never would have tried. I’m also so, so thankful for Nicole and Elizabeth! They are both amazing people and the way they offer such an open and positive environment for people to come together to learn and grow…it’s truly awesome."

It’s really cool. I love the way I feel when I leave yoga. My mind quiets down and I can finally relax. I have noticed my body is much more toned. I have gained a lot of muscle.  I’m much more relaxed and I’ve gained a lot of confidence in myself. There is something so empowering when you accomplish things you never thought you could do. "My first yoga class was in October of 2015. I had debated taking yoga for years, finally did it, and loved it.  And while I enjoy the relaxing, restorative classes at other studios, I have also enjoyed getting my ass kicked at Bayou Yoga.  I'm hoping to find out that it is never too late to make some really big body changes.  I also truly enjoy the time spent with Elizabeth and Nicole, and the members of their yoga community.”

"I love the small classes, friendly people, community atmosphere, and that all levels, shapes and sizes are made to feel welcome! It's my first time ever practicing yoga at an actual studio and the instructors and regulars that motivate me to show up on the weekends when I don't want to. I'm in my 40s and suffering from some health problems. My body was hurting and I didn't know why. My doctor told me it is all stress related. So I did three things to help ME! I started monthly massages, yoga classes and most recently hired a maid! I picked yoga because it's helps with stress. I was surprised how much I love Power Yoga! It's challenging and I feel awesome after class. Sweaty, but refreshed! I grew up playing sports. I always enjoyed exercise but work and kids make it more difficult. So with time you lose the strength, flexibility and balance that you took for granted in your youth. That always bothered me. I don't work out to lose weight. I work out to be strong and flexible. Yoga satisfies that desire for me. It makes me feel more toned and I've even received compliments in the short two months I have been practicing with you! I love to challenge myself each class to get better at even one move. I will conquer the flying lizard one day! Thanks for making me a part of your community.
